Christmas

Stewart and I had a great Christmas. We went home to stay with family for almost a week. It was a nice break from a long semester of school. Stewart and I were able to go snowboarding with my dad and brother. This was Stewart's first time and I hadn't been in almost three years. We had a great time. Stewart fell a lot, but if you ask him he will tell you that he got really good at getting up off the ground. I thought he did a great job and really got the hang of it. We are hoping to go again. One funny thing that happened to us was mom's Christmas trick. She kept telling everyone that she could only afford to get us toilet paper for our Christmas present. Well the smart women that she is, she did get us toilet paper, but she put money inside of it! It was great!!!

Stewart and I also went to Fast Lane with his family. We had a great time racing against Parker, Justin, and Lanae. Parker won, and I came in dead last!

Here we are after our race was over.

Stewart and Justin in their racing suits in case they crashed.

It was a great time being with family.

More than just a hole in the ground

The contractors told me and Stewart that they are trying to get the whole house closed in as fast as they can, so they can work inside while it is cold out. So, I will probably be posting lots of pictures in the next couple of weeks.

This is the front of the house
Here I am standing in the door that goes into the laundry room. Our bedroom is next to the laundry room.

Stewart is standing where the front door will be

This is were our dinning table will be. These cutt outs are for the windows, and next to the windows is the door leading to the backyard.

The basement

Yea! You can kinda get a good look at what the basement looks like. This is a view from the living room. You can see down the hall and the rooms on the right are the bedrooms. The rooms on the left are the utility room and the bathroom. The room in the back is another bedroom.

This is Stewart standing on our front porch. The cut out is for the stairs going to the basement.

To My Favorite Pumpkins

Being a good person is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all of the yucky stuff -- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a bright new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see. This was passed on to me from another pumpkin. Now, it is your turn to pass it on to a pumpkin of your choice. I liked this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch.
Have A Happy Fall!

THIS IS WHY I LOVE WORKING WITH CHILDREN!!!

I got this e-mail from my grandma. Enjoy!!!!

ALL MEN / ALL GIRLS
When my daughter, Kelli, said her bedtime prayers, she would bless every family member, every friend, and every animal (current and past).
For several weeks, after we had finished the nightly prayer, Kelli would say, 'And all girls.'This soon became part of her nightly routine, to include this closing. My curiosity got the best of me and I asked her, 'Kelli, why do you always add the part about all girls?'Her response, 'Because everybody always finish their prayers by saying 'All Men'!'

MOSES AND THE RED SEA

Nine-year-old Joey was asked by his mother what he had learned in Sunday School.'Well, Mom, our teacher told us how God sent Moses on a mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt . When he got to the Red Sea , he had his army build a pontoon bridge and all the people walked across safely. Then he radioed headquarters for reinforcements. They sent bombers to blow up the bridge and all the Israelites were saved.''Now, Joey, is that really what your teacher taught you?' his mother asked.'Well, no, Mom. But, if I told it the way the teacher did, you'd never believe it!'

LOT'S WIFE
The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot 's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt, when little Jason interrupted, 'My Mommy looked back once while she was driving,' he announced triumphantly, 'and she turned into a telephone pole!'

BEING THANKFUL
A Rabbi said to a precocious six-year-old boy, 'So your mother says your prayers for you each night? That's very commendable. What does she say?'
The little boy replied, 'Thank God he's in bed!'

UNTIMELY ANSWERED PRAYER
During the minister's prayer one Sunday, there was a loud whistle from one of the back pews. Tommy's mother was horrified. She pinched him into silence and, after church, asked, 'Tommy, whatever made you do such a thing?'Tommy answered, soberly, 'I asked God to teach me to whistle, and He did!'

1st Day of School!!

Stewart and I started school this week:( It felt weird to know that this is our last semester of classes!!! I still can't get over that. Stewart is done in December and I will be doing my student teaching in the spring. We can't wait to be done, but it is scary to think that we have to actually get a job and work full time all year long. No more working full time in the summer and part-time during the school year. It is going to be a long year with us both taking 18 credits and working. Stewart also has to finish his physics independent study class and do his senior project. I am still waiting to hear from my test scores for the praxis 2 and get ready to student teach. It is going to be a long semester but also a good one to know that after this we are done!!

We also had fun cooking. We haven't done that a whole lot. We borrowed my dad's camp chef and cooked breakfast on it. We roasted hot dogs on the open camp fire and had smores!!!!
